Our Next Trip: Japan!

We’re off to one of our dream destinations in October. We have a friend who is currently stationed in Tokyo and his service is about to be up at the end of the year. So, we figured what better time than to visit an old friend and have our own personal tour guide!

We’ll be spending some time in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. Kyoto is most known for it’s Temples and Shrines and beautiful gardens. This is where you can steep in the authentic, rich, culture and get the full traditional experience. I cannot wait to visit here.

Osaka is the culinary capital for foodies in Japan. I’m making my food bucket list as we speak. They have an eclectic shopping scene, arcades, energetic nightlife, yet still have a bit of the old traditional culture as well.

Tokyo is the best mix of the two – blending old traditions with new modern technology. From the famous Shibuya Crossing to the food stalls to the 7-11 culture known as konbini (コンビニ). Oh and the vending machines! Tokyo has vending machines with the most random, yet amazing things in them. I simply can’t wait to experience everything Japan has to offer.
